Accessible Documents with MS Word 1 Day | 6 hours | $550 PLUS TAX

Creating accessible documents is increasingly expected -- and in many Toronto organizations, legally required. This course walks you through producing PDFs that function correctly with screen readers and assistive tools, using Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat. You'll finish with a practical process that applies immediately to your organization's documents. Prerequisite: Students should have a good understanding of the basics in Acrobat.

Accessibility means making sure your content is available to as many people as possible. In this hands-on course, we will explore the basic steps for converting Microsoft Word documents to accessible PDFs. Students will learn the principles of document accessibility, including the correct use of headings, adding alternative text for images, structuring tables properly, and ensuring that documents are navigable by all users, including those with disabilities. The course covers guidlines, useful tips, and current standards for compliance.
